Valedictory Fund I is the flagship fund of Valedictory Investment Management, LLC.

Objective

The fund’s investment objective is:

to compound wealth at an risk-efficient manner over the long-term using a disciplined, well-researched investment approach, which includes a smart asset allocation and best-in-class investment vehicles.

We consider it a moderately aggressive strategy, targeting a risk level of around 10% (???) annual volatility.

Investments

The fund will generally invest in U.S. listed open-end and closed end mutual funds, exchange traded funds (ETF’s), unit investment trusts (UIT’s), and cash-like instruments, including money market funds.  As a smaller part of its strategy, the fund may also invest in individual U.S. and international equity (in particular U.S. small/ micro cap stocks) and fixed-income securities, and derivative instruments including but not limited to futures and options contracts.

  • approximating a 60/ 40 portfolio; more conventional investing; focused on capital preservation and slow growth
  • follows an endowment-style portfolio
  • widely diversified across all dimensions, including all major asset classes and most recognized liquid sub asset classes
  • low(-er) tracking error

Valedictory Fund II: an aggressive, concentrated, small-cap strategy targeting private equity/ venture capital type returns

  • seeking to achieve (asymmetrical) positive skewness in the tails
  • focused on high compound growth
  • aggressive high tracking error, high volatility strategy, relying on quantitative factor investing (harvesting well-established risk premiums)
  • approximating venture capital/ private equity returns
  • follows an active, individual investor model; idiosyncratic, very concentrated, illiquid
