We build the portfolio using a mix of (currently U.S.-based) open-end mutual funds (OEFs), exchange-traded funds (ETFs), closed-end funds (CEFs), and individual small cap stocks.
We use a fund vehicle to populate an asset class in our asset allocation policy, and use a handful of high conviction, undervalued small (usually micro) cap stocks to capitalize on the unlimited upside potential in this less efficient asset class.
